生活中常見塑料型材制品的分類：一般的塑料制品的底部都會有如上標示，它們對使用范圍進行了界定，標有這些數字的器皿都是合格產品，但是如果使用不當就會變成不安全的東西。

一、PET：聚對苯二甲酸乙二醇酯

常用來制作礦泉水瓶、可樂飲料瓶、果汁瓶、屏幕保護膜及其它透明保護膜等，通常呈無色透明。因為它只可耐熱至70℃，所以這種飲料瓶只適合裝冷飲和暖飲，裝高溫液體（如：熱開水）或加熱則易變形，有對人體有害的物質溶出；并且該塑料制品使用10個月后，可能會釋放出致癌物，對人體具有毒性。

PET也可紡絲，就是我們常說的滌綸，故而奧運期間有回收飲料瓶制衣的說法。許多追求透氣和輕便的運動服就是滌綸制成的，很久以前流行的衣料“的確良”也是此物，但是限于當時紡絲手段的落后，的確良衣物穿著上不如現在的舒服。此外PET亦有許多工程應用

常用：灌裝礦泉水、碳酸飲料、果汁等。

優點：透明度高，可看清瓶子的內容物；耐酸堿，可裝碳酸飲料；防水性高，不易滲出。

注意：無毒，但合成過程可能存留單體、低分子齊聚物和副反應產物如二甘醇，這些都是有一定毒性的，用于飲料瓶的PET原料國家有嚴格的標準。

PET材質的塑料瓶不能放在汽車內曬太陽；不要裝酒、油等物質，有害物質容易溶出來。也不要裝70℃以上液體，過高溫度會導致材料分解釋放出有害化學物質。

2、HDPE：高密度聚乙烯
適宜于裝食品及藥品、裝清潔用品和沐浴產品、購物袋、垃圾桶等。目前超市和商場中使用的塑料袋多是此種材質制成，可耐110℃高溫，標明食品用的塑料袋可用來盛裝食品。HDPE在各種半透明、不透明的塑料容器上被廣泛地使用，手感較厚。

常用：白色藥瓶、不透明洗發水瓶、酸奶瓶、口香糖瓶等。

優點：較耐各種腐蝕性溶液，多被用在清潔用品、沐浴產品等。

注意：盛裝清潔用品、沐浴產品的瓶子可在清潔后重復使用，但這些容器通常洗不干凈，殘留的物質會變成細菌的溫床，最好不要循環使用，特別不推薦作為循環盛放食品藥品的容器使用。

三、PVC：聚氯乙烯：PVC現在多用于制造一些廉價的人造革，腳墊，下水管道等；由于其電氣性能良好又有一定的自身阻燃特性，被廣泛用于電線電纜的外皮制造。此外，PVC在工業領域應用廣泛，特別是在對耐酸堿腐蝕要求高的地方

常用：雨衣，PVC異型材、PVC塑料線管、水管、塑料開關、插座。

優點：高強度、耐氣侯變化性以及較好的耐腐蝕性。

注意：這種材質只能耐熱81℃，因此無法在溫度較高的地方使用。PVC生產中會使用大量增塑劑（塑化劑，如DOP）和含有重金屬的熱穩定劑，且合成過程很難杜絕游離單體的存在，遇到高溫和油脂時容易析出有毒物，容易致癌，所以PVC在接觸人體、特別是醫藥食品應用中，基本被PP、PE所取代。
